Sound Designer

Sound designers create the aural world of a film to enhance the mood, atmosphere, and/or tone. Sound design components include sound effects or SFX sound design, mixing, Foley sound design, dialogue, and music.

Sound design is the final and most important element needed to create an immersive experience for the audience.

Mixing or Mastering engineer

Mixing is the stage after recording where you blend individual tracks together, while mastering is the the final stage of audio production where you polish the entire mix to prepare for distribution. Mixing is when an engineer carves and balances the separate tracks in a session to sound good when played together.

While mastering a song means putting the finishing touches on a track by enhancing the overall sound, creating consistency across the album, and preparing it for distribution.

Music Producer

A music producer, or record producer, assists an artist with their recording project, bringing their vision to fruition and guiding their sound along the way.

Professional music production is creative and technical. It requires well-developed listening skills, a good handle on recording technology, a deep musical knowledge, and effective project management and leadership skills.

Live or Studio Engineer

A live sound engineer is someone who blends and balances multiple sounds at a live event by using a mixing console, pre- recorded material, voices and instruments. The sounds are equalized, routed and amplified through loudspeakers.

A studio engineer’s responsibilities generally involve recording and processing audio so that it’s ready for commercial use or release. Their role involves working with musicians in a studio, managing recording sessions and ensuring sound is captured at the desired quality.
