Alicia Pavlis

Screen & Media Lecturer

Photographer, DoP, Writer, Director, Producer, Actor… 
Alicia Pavlis is an actor and emerging filmmaker who has appeared in several Australian TV series’ including; Glitch, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Fat Tony & Co., Winners & Losers, and feature film Predestination. Her directorial debut Apparition won Best Indie Short with New York International Film Awards in 2022. Alicia also produced and edited the short.

With over 20 years experience in the entertainment industry, Alicia is a highly respected and in-demand filmmaking and acting coach, and has worked as an actor, voice over artist, screenwriter, content producer, director, photographer, casting professional, and musician.

Alicia launched Reel Photographs in 2015 with a vision to produce boutique content specialising in photography, videography, and editing services, including; headshots, portraiture, fashion photography, and also voice over recording and audio editing services.

Alicia has spent many years honing her craft and keeps a keen eye on changing trends in the film and entertainment industries, continually in a state of learning by attending conferences and workshops, developing content, and staying connected to her creative peers. Alicia is passionate about helping artists create exciting and engaging work that caters to the modern ever changing creative landscape.

Lecturer and Founder of Attitude in Rhythm, Danny Simcic has worked his magic for several successful bands like Real Life which sold over 3 million records globally. His skills in music production, studio recording, sound design, and audio engineering have earned him a prominent name in the industry. He has worked with remarkable artists like The Eurythmics and OMD Thompson Twins, and record producers like Jeremy Allom, Steve Hillage, David Holman amongst others.

Danny’s music experience is diverse, ranging from Remixing, Alternate Rock, and EDM to Urban Soul and Indie-Pop. He firmly believes in artist development and his guidance has helped many gems from American Idol, The Voice, and X Factor kick off their music career. His experience in touring and production is easily accessible to his students, who can learn a great deal from the drumming master.

A Level 3 Dante Certification holder, Brad Toan carries a rich experience of working with eminent institutes to shape the face of music education in the industry. Brad has gathered fame in Melbourne live performance and recording as an audio engineer, technician, and equipment specialist.

Over the years, Brad has developed in-demand skills like audio post-production, sound editing, pro tools, and sound design. He has a knack for creativity and an eye for detail which helped him work closely with established labels and oversee multi-million dollar studio installation projects. His experience as a technical trainer and senior tutor at prestigious music institutes has molded his teaching style, making it quite effective and fruitful for students.

He has perfected the sound tech for several in-studio works from Earth Caller, Oceans Inside, Christopher Dicker, Between You&Me, and others. Mckee’s mastery of sound engineering and production techniques has brought him laurels from a global audience.

Starting as a drummer for a hit Australian rock band ‘Closure in Moscow’, McKee has had the pleasure of working with sound engineers and music industry professionals from around the world. A professional singer-songwriter & guitarist, Ash King rejoices in creating, directing, and producing music in a number of genres. He carries 8+ years of experience as an educator at premium education hotspots like Deakin University, Monash University, and Box Hill Institute. His passion for music thrived as he worked the strings for blues-rock band Smoke Stack Rhino, touring extensively across Australia and receiving airplay on Triple J and Triple M.

Ash has worked with some of the prominent names in the industry including Beau McKee, Pierce Brothers, G Flip, and KINGSWOOD. In 2020, he went on to inaugurate his independent regional record label- JAMALAMA with his cognominal partner. Ash takes immense delight in developing the music community by sharing his knowledge with budding artists. He lives by the philosophy ’You don’t create art, it creates you’ which inspires his students to kindle their passion for music.

He is highly skilled at sound mixing, audio editing, sound processing, and production. He has worked with accomplished artists garnering over 67 million plays on Spotify. His experience further extends to known brands like Slumberjack, RL Grime, What So Not, Golden Features, Carmada, and others.

Working with major labels, headliners, and industry leaders like Fatboy Slim & Adam Freeland has exposed him to the core functions and new innovative techniques in the industry. Working in various sectors of the industry including fashion, editorial, runway, advertising, corporate, film and bridal, and her knowledge and expertise has been shared for the past eight years through her teaching.

Nicole’s extensive product knowledge can be attributed to having worked with numerous makeup and cosmetic companies over the years such as Laura Mercier, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Lancôme, Burberry, Kryolan and Napoleon. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, advertisements and campaigns.

Co-author and photographer for The Chicken Life, Ilana Rose’s love for photography and photojournalism spans over 25 years. Many would find her work in esteemed media outlets like The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Good Weekend, Marie Claire, Who Weekly, and several others. Her interests further extend to content production and storytelling driven by her passion for social justice. The highlights from Ilana’s passion projects include her work with organizations like Wesley Mission, The Smith Family, The Brotherhood of St Laurence amongst others.

Ilana added immense value to the team of World Vision Australia as a videographer and content curator for 4 years. Her work has also been collected by leading galleries and organizations like The Victoria State Library and The Powerhouse Museum Sydney. In addition to brilliance in photography, she brings key skills like image editing, lighting, and videography to the table. Victoria very well incorporates her expertise in storytelling with her teaching methods, which makes her lectures captivating.
