Am I Eligible?

You can apply for any of the courses if you are able to provide evidence that you have ticked the following checklist:

  • You’ve completed year 12 or equivalent
  • You are over the age of 18
  • You meet one of the following English proficiency requirements-
    • a valid IELTS score of 5.5 or other minimum test scores indicated here. These tests must be taken no more than 2 years prior to the application.
    • Completed Year 12 or equivalent in English language
  • If you have completed a qualification where English was the primary language of instruction, you may be eligible for an English language exemption.

The requirements to enrol from one course to another varies, so it’s best to go through the courses and know the checklist for the program of your choice.

How Do I Enrol?

Step 1: Apply online or contact us to express your interest, you will then be sent a Course Outline as well an Enrolment Form to complete.

Step 2: Provide evidence that you meet the Entry Requirements of the course (as indicated on the Course Outline).

Step 3: Once you have completed your enrolment form and gathered all the necessary evidence, send it to melbourne@united-pop.com.au or Level 8, 350 Queen Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.

Step 4: You will be contacted within 10 days to discuss your suitability and arrange an Entry Interview if your application is progressing.

Step 5: At the Entry Interview you will be required to undertake a Language, Learning and Numeracy assessment to assess your suitability and support needs.
If your application is approved, you will be provided with a Written Agreement that outlines the Terms and Conditions of your enrolment with United POP Australia. You must keep a copy of this for your own records.

Step 6: You will then be required to pay your enrolment deposit and provide any additional evidence before finally receiving your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment letter (eCoE) as well as further information about your first training session and anything you need to bring or prepare prior.

  • It is a condition of entry that upon acceptance, students provide evidence of having an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500). Please refer to this government website for information about applying.
  • You will be required to undertake a pre-training review and Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment as part of the application process. Your pre-training review and LLN result will be used to:
    • help United POP identify your educational support needs, and
    • To be eligible for entry into a United POP Australia diploma of study you must achieve an exit Level 3 LLN outcome in both literacy and numeracy.

Do I Need To Provide Specific Documents?

When submitting an application, you should attach copies of all supporting documentation including:

  • Certified and translated (if originals are not in English) copy of school transcripts showing satisfactory completion of senior high school
  • A copy of English test score results, evidencing IELTS overall score of 5.5 or equivalent like TOEFL
  • Certified copy of your passport
  • Certified copy of current visa, if currently in Australia.

Original or certified copies of your supporting academic documents must be provided to United POP upon request and if you do not provide them your enrolment may be cancelled. This may occur at course enrolment or at any time following commencement of the course.

Making A Complaint

The Overseas Student Ombudsman (OSO)
International students may complain to the OSO if their complaint is in relation to United POP Australia:

  • refusing admission to a course
  • course fees and refunds
  • course or provider transfers
  • course progress or attendance
  • cancellation of enrolment
  • accommodation or work arranged by your provider
  • incorrect advice given by an education agent.
  • if you believe we have failed to take action or are taking too long to take some action. This might include (for example), failing to provide your results in the normal timeframe, or failing to provide services included in your written agreement with United POP Australia.

The OSO may not be able to investigate your complaint if you have not already exhausted our formal internal complaints process.
